Big Buck Outfitters, Inc. continually searches for elk hunts to offer that have a high harvest rate, good trophy quality, and reasonable license availability -- we have found a couple hunts fitting these criteria. Big Buck Outfitters, Inc. currently offers archery elk in Montana in a couple of different areas and some limited archery and rifle spots in Wyoming. The trophy quality is good to excellent, and it is realistic to hope for a 100 percent opportunity for success on mature bulls -- so realistic that Big Buck Outfitters, Inc. offers $1,000 cash back to any client that does not take a shot at an elk. Our elk in Wyoming in Areas 37 and 38, both archery and rifle. In Area 37, the hunts are conducted on private land which consists of small ranches. When the elk hunting is good on these places, it is great, but when it is not great, it is tough -- it is a bit hit or miss, so we like to combine these hunts with deer hunts and capitalize if the elk are there. The hunts in Area 38 are conducted on public land, but the area is remote and limited draw even for residents -- this tends to regulate access and keep hunter numbers way down. This area consistently produces upper-end quality bulls. Our hunters should expect to see mature six by six bulls on a hunt with us. This hunt does require some conditioning on the part of the hunter and is not for the faint of heart, but the scenery and quality of the experience is hard to beat! On the first evening of our 2008 hunt (October 27), the client and I saw 26 bulls from one vantage point!
